Nathalie Lavoie’s artistic practice stems from experiential engagement with places. A chosen site becomes the concentration of energy, a locus from which multiple interpretations emerge and vanish. The installations or performances persist as traces by means of photographs, videos, and writing.

She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Arts  from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver, for which she was awarded the Governor General Gold Medal for academic excellence. Her work has been shown nationally in Ottawa, Yellowknife, Edmonton, and Vancouver, as well as abroad in Ireland, Russia, Iceland, and Norway.
